Andrea Johnson is the secondary English instructional coach, a National Board Certified Teacher, and the 2020 Virginia Teacher of the Year. Ms. Johnson believes in student-centered instruction that is purposefully designed to grow students’ critical-thinking skills, allow students to work creatively, celebrate students’ life experiences and cultures, and enable students to work collaboratively. Ms. Johnson earned a BA from the University of Virginia, a MS from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is currently earning an Ed.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University.
