Last year, the Lottery contributed more than $934 million to Virginia's public schools, more than $2.5 million per day. Since 1999, the Virginia Lottery has generated more than $13 billion for Virginia’s public schools. Additionally, we take every opportunity to celebrate all that teachers do every day to expand the possibilities for Virginia’s future leaders. That’s why we like to go the extra mile for teachers. We do this by recognizing thousands of teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week, sponsoring dozens of professional education organizations, visiting schools with special recognitions and volunteering in classrooms across the state. The Virginia Lottery is a WIN for public education in the Commonwealth!
